May 10, 2011 – Stafford, VA – Here in Stafford, there is a group of security professionals who gather monthly to exchange ideas and information about security. The group called the Quantico Area Industrial Security Council (QAISC) provides guidance for consistent implementation of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), by focusing on security education, training and providing a library of resources. Now at 200+ members, the QAISC is an excellent resource for security questions and issues for government contractors.
Begun in 2007, the QAISC reached a point where it asked, “How can we give back to our country?” QASIC knows that security professionals are responsible for safeguarding sensitive U.S. Government data, but also understands that the “hard” jobs are being done daily by U.S. Armed Forces men and women. This led to the development of a charity golf tournament. For this year’s second annual tournament, the QAISC raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). (In 2010 the QAISC donated to the Semper Fi Fund).
Cask was one of many companies who both sponsored a hole and provided a team of 4 players. After the tournament, players and organizers enjoyed a fiesta with delicious fare and competed for numerous raffle and auction items. There were 28 teams in the tournament and more than $7,000 was raised for the WWP!
